The CFA February 2027 registration deadline is almost here. Standard registration for the February 2027 Level I and Level III exams closes on 5 November 2026, and the separate scheduling deadline follows on 10 November 2026. The early registration window closed on 7 July 2026, so this is your last chance to secure a February seat at the standard fee.
This guide covers the final CFA February 2027 registration deadline, fees, what changes with the 2027 curriculum, and a practical 16-week study plan you can start straight away. If you want expert support, our CFA classes are built around exactly this timeline.
Key dates you need to know
CFA Institute publishes deadlines in Eastern Time, and the final registration deadline is 11:59 PM ET. For candidates in the UAE, that is roughly 9 AM Gulf Standard Time on 6 November, but you should never plan around the last hour.
Standard registration fees
With early registration closed, the standard fee applies. This is currently US$1,490 for Level I and US$1,590 for Level III, which is about US$350 more than the early rate.
Why the scheduling deadline matters
Registering and scheduling are two separate steps. After you register and pay, you must also book your exam slot with the test centre by 10 November 2026. Candidates who register but forget to schedule can lose their preferred date or centre.
If you miss the final deadline, you cannot sit the CFA exam in the February 2027 window. For Level I, your next options are May 2027 (final registration deadline 10 February 2027) and August 2027. For Level III, the picture is tougher because the exam runs only twice a year, in February and August, so missing February means waiting until August 2027.
Also note that paid deferrals are being discontinued from the February 2027 cycle. Rescheduling inside the same window has historically carried a fee, so it is worth registering only when you are ready to commit.
Level I and Level III only
Only Level I and Level III are offered in February. Level II is never offered in February. If you are a Level II candidate, your first 2027 window is May (18 to 22 May 2027), with a final registration deadline of 10 February 2027.
Which exam is right for you?
November 2026 is the last window on the 2026 curriculum. From February 2027 onward, the exams are based on the 2027 curriculum. That makes the February window the first test of the updated material, so make sure the notes, question banks and mock exams you use are updated for 2027.
What candidates should expect
Based on current published summaries, the changes concentrate on Level I. Candidates can expect new content on AI and data science within Quantitative Methods, expanded Equities coverage, and a restructured Ethics section. Always confirm the final reading list on the CFA Institute website, then align your study material to it.
Why this matters for your preparation
Old study notes from the 2026 cycle may not cover new readings, which is a real risk if you are borrowing materials from friends or buying second-hand books. Our CFA exam preparation classes are updated for the 2027 curriculum so you study only what is examinable.

From early November, you have roughly 16 weeks before the Level I window opens on 22 February 2027. CFA Institute recommends around 300 hours of preparation per level, which works out to about 18 to 20 hours a week. The plan below is written for Level I, with Level III adjustments further down. If you have followed our CFA November 2026 study plan in 8 weeks, you can reuse the same rhythm over a longer runway.
Weeks 1 to 3: Ethics, Quantitative Methods and Economics
Start with the foundation topics. Ethics carries real weight and appears again in your final revision, while Quantitative Methods now includes the new AI and data science content. Finish Economics before moving on.
Weeks 4 to 6: Financial Statement Analysis and Corporate Issuers
Financial Statement Analysis is one of the largest and most calculation-heavy topics, so give it extra time. Corporate Issuers is lighter and a good place to rebuild pace.
Weeks 7 to 10: Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Alternatives and Portfolio Management
These are the core investment topics. Study one topic at a time, finish the question bank for each, and avoid skipping ahead. Fixed Income and Derivatives usually need a second pass, so mark them for revision.
Weeks 11 to 13: Full-syllabus revision
Revisit every topic with a focus on weak areas from your error notebook. Shift from reading to active recall, using flashcards, formula sheets and timed question sets.
Weeks 14 to 16: Mock exams and final polish
Level III candidates sit the exam a few days earlier, from 18 February 2027, so your runway is slightly shorter. Level III includes constructed response questions, so written practice matters as much as reading. Start essay-style practice from week 3 rather than leaving it to the final month, and spend more time on portfolio construction, asset allocation and behavioural finance. Our CFA classes include structured written-answer feedback for Level III candidates.
The CFA February 2027 registration deadline is 5 November 2026, with scheduling closing on 10 November. Register at the standard fee, confirm your exam slot, and begin your 16-week plan now so that you reach February confident on the 2027 curriculum.
