Every year, as the autumn term gathers pace, CBSE students and parents ask the same question: when will the board exam date sheet come out? For the 2026-27 session, the CBSE date sheet 2027 for Class 10 and Class 12 has not been officially released yet. What students can already know is the likely exam window, how the Class 10 two-exam system works, and how to prepare whatever the final dates turn out to be.
More than 45 lakh students across India and abroad are expected to sit the 2027 board exams, including thousands of families in Dubai and across the UAE. This guide covers the latest status, the expected CBSE Class 10 and 12 exam dates, and practical steps to use the waiting time well. If you want expert help alongside your school, you can also explore our online CBSE tutors.
Has CBSE released the date sheet for 2027?
No. As of 23 October 2026, CBSE has not published an official 2027 timetable for Class 10 or Class 12 on cbse.gov.in. Sample question papers for 2026-27 are available, but these are preparation material and not exam timetables.
When is the CBSE date sheet likely to be released?
CBSE has not announced a release date, so any specific day is a guess. Past years give a rough guide. For the 2026 boards, CBSE released a tentative date sheet on 24 September 2025 and the final timetable on 30 October 2025. For the 2025 boards, the main date sheet arrived on 20 November 2024. Most education portals therefore expect the 2027 schedule between late October and December 2026.
Beware of fake CBSE date sheet PDFs
Every year, unofficial “CBSE date sheet” PDFs circulate on social media and messaging apps. As of 22 October 2026 there is no official 2027 timetable, so anything shared as one should be treated as fake. Genuine notices appear only on cbse.gov.in, under the examination circulars section.
Until the official date sheet is out, the windows below are based on CBSE’s usual pattern and current education reports. Treat them as planning guides and not as confirmed dates.
CBSE publishes separate subject-wise date sheets for Class 10 and Class 12. Once released, expect each PDF to carry the following details.
Exam timings for students in the UAE
CBSE papers have commonly started at 10:30 AM IST, which is around 9:00 AM in the UAE. Always confirm the exact timing for your centre against the final date sheet and your school’s circular.
Once CBSE releases the timetable, follow these steps to download the genuine PDF.

Two board exams in 2027
CBSE Class 10 follows a two-exam system. Phase 1, the main board exam, is expected in February to March 2027. Phase 2, an optional improvement exam, is planned for May 2027. Check the final CBSE circular for eligibility conditions, as these rules come from the board.
Passing criteria
Students need at least 33 percent marks in each subject to be declared pass in the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board exams.
Why Phase 1 deserves full attention
Even with a second chance in May, Phase 1 is the main exam. Strong preparation for it reduces pressure, builds confidence and keeps the second exam as a true safety net rather than a plan.
A longer exam window
Class 12 exams are expected to run from February to early April 2027. Gaps between papers will differ by subject combination, so use the final date sheet to plan revision days between each paper.
Practicals and internal assessment
Practical exams usually take place before the theory papers, and schools schedule them within the window set by CBSE. Keep your practical files, projects and records ready well in advance so they do not compete with theory revision.
Looking beyond the boards
Class 12 results shape university and entrance exam plans, whether you are applying in India or abroad. Knowing your exam dates early helps you align board revision with applications and entrance exam preparation.
You do not need the official timetable to begin. Education reports suggest aiming to finish the core syllabus by December and keeping January for revision and mock tests. A simple plan helps.
Plan backwards once the dates are out
When the date sheet is released, count back from your first paper. Mark every exam, add a revision day before each one and schedule your final mocks at least two weeks before the boards begin.
